1) Go to Pasaquan in Buena Vista, Georgia. What’s a Pasaquan, you ask? Let me tell you about a little blog known as “Pecanne Log” where a blogger talked about it once.
2) Get back to Atlanta in time to attend Sacred Geometry Atlanta’s Occult Origins of America Block Party. You can dress up like extras in the History Channel’s Aliens, Illuminati, and Our Founding Fathers special, or just draw golden spirals on your Peachtree Road Race t-shirt.

This looks cosmic! And proceeds benefit WonderRoot.
Speaking of hidden secrets, I read Terminal Station with great interest to see that the old Masonic lodge on Moreland is up for redevelopment. (Photo here.) It has always been a dream of mine to buy that lodge, the Castle by Woodruff Arts Center, or the Kriegshaber House, also known as the decaying mansion further up on Moreland by DeKalb Avenue. You know, this one:

Guess I’ll just be saving my money for Kriegshaber now. The architect also designed some Masonic temples so, you know, close enough to being a secret society stronghold. And this mansion is $1.1 million; what a steal! (PS, guess who’s responsible for it? Inman Park Properties!) I will just sit inside it all day and blog about how adorable I am, like the people who live at the Wren’s Nest do.

Used to be a shoe store on the bottom of that Masonic temple, as I recall. You could pick up some fine soles, then stroll down up Moreland for some fried sole.
You couldn’t find a way to work in “soul” too?
I thought about inserting more soul in the story, but, really, it was just too easy.
I should have been clearer that the proposed development appears to be demolishing the lodge on Moreland. I can’t see any way, looking at the site plan, that it is included in the development. I think they HAD plans to do an adaptive re-use plan, but apparently those fell apart.
You’ll just have to hold out hope you can get that old lodge/theater on Cherokee (you know, where Dakota Blue is).
That’s what I assumed, and what I also meant – the lot will be redeveloped, not the building. I’m holding out for something protected as a landmark, then they can never get rid of it!
