The Inman Park Festival is this weekend! It is one of the best neighborhood festivals that Atlanta has to offer, and as you know there are approximately 163 neighborhood festivals in Atlanta. Sometimes I think people invent neighborhoods just to have festivals and celebrate.

Anyway, the Inman Park Festival Parade on Saturday (starting at 2 PM) is the most fun you’ll have as an innocent bystander until the L5P Halloween Parade rolls around in six months. (I don’t count Pride in this genre of parade because it’s on a gigantic scale and totally corporate.) This parade is a good place to see what happened to all the Baby Boomers who stayed in Atlanta when everyone else moved to the suburbs in the ’80s.

And the parade the best way to get a vision of the future if you’re considering aging intown and remaining a registered Democrat instead of moving to country club in Cherokee county to raise kids.

I am a little embarrased to admit that I actually was cooing at the hippie pugs before I saw your comment. I am even more embarrased to say that that is already me, kind of. In my dreams.
