Heads up

7 Feb

I just got word that one of my friends was robbed at gunpoint outside of her Kirkwood home. She learned from the investigators handling her case that there has been a rash of similar activities in the area – people being kidnapped and taken to ATMs and even home invasions. She noted that on more than one occasion the word “rash” was used to describe the series of incidents.

People, be careful. Especially women. Which I really hate saying because fear really sucks. Just be smart and be careful and maybe you can avoid being afraid.

Two weeks ago there were several muggings in EAV all in one night. Frightening.

    Miss Darrow,

I was there that night. They stopped the music in the Flatiron and told everyone that someone to be careful, as a person had been mugged in the parking lot across the street. Kind of weird walking to my car after that, as I was parked down some dark side street. I’m hearing way too much about these kinds of crimes.

I think all over Atlanta there has been an influx of crimes going on. My mom lives in Midtown and around her house there have been a lot of car break-ins. I mean, even on my street a couple of weeks ago… not sure if related but same two day period as the EAV muggings… the women who lives across the street from me had her car broken into.
