This Saturday, as with every first Saturday of the month, Highland Row Antiques will be having a giant sale. From their email list:
Great new shipment with several original Danish Modern pieces, including a 5 piece bedroom set, awesome 3 piece wall unit with drop front desk, coffee and end table set, signed Denmark loveseat, chairs, coffee table and side tables. A Paul Evans Brutal china cabinet/hutch. Also, several stainless industrial cabinets and desk/tables. A few odd mid-century dressers, tables and lamps. Four Russell Wright patio folding chairs. Two red and two green. Also, an original enamel top Sellers table. Too many unique smalls and decor items to list.
Photos are on their MySpace page. I can’t even look at this stuff – it’s too bittersweet. Bitter because I don’t have a spare 4 square feet in my apartment for any of the adorable furniture in that store; sweet because I don’t actually need a stainless steel bedside table so it’s kind of a relief that floor and wall space are major issues after three years of buying lots of probably-extremely-flammable decor.
I also noticed a “Liquidation Sale” sign in front of Scarlett Loves Rhettro. I haven’t been in that store in ages – the last time I went it seemed a little overpriced and a little junky, but perhaps their inventory now is a bit more desirable. Regardless, liquidation sales are great at antique and vintage shops because the sellers are so desperate to clean out their booth and not take anything home with them that you can make off with some magnificent pieces for mere dollars. Like a pair of slightly water-stained framed illustrations of 18th century French couples in fancy outfits.

First the art papers auction and now this. I wish these things would take place in March so I could have time to pay the bills from Christmas first. Oh well.
