Investigative journalism: Holiday gorging

27 Nov

I was going to mention some of the things in Atlanta for which I’m thankful, but then I noticed that about 95% of them were food. I guess if there’s a time of the year to make a list of your favorite foods, it’s Thanksgiving. However, I was too worried about leaving something out so I just gave up. And I’m glad I did, because I would have overlooked the limited-edition oatmeal chocolate chip cookie at Belly.

On that note, AJC.com has an earth-shattering, investigative piece for you that I’ve been trying to ignore but every day they make it more and more prominent on the website. Five skinny women tell you how to stay thin during the holidays. If they’re skinny, they must have all the secrets, right? Not just skinny parents. Here are some of their TOP SECRET secretive personal holiday diet secrets:

  • Exercise! Daily!
  • Eat in smaller portions!
  • Avoid empty calories!
  • Weigh yourself!
  • Don’t weigh yourself!
  • Don’t graze!
  • Talk a lot so you’ll be too busy to stuff your face!
  • Good overall habits!

So easy! Yet so secret! Why haven’t any women’s magazines covered this topic extensively before, I ask? Thank you, AJC, for blowing the cover on all these skinny women!
